As a member of the Roteiros de Charme Association, Pedra da Laguna reinforces its management with the Ethic Codes and Environmental Conduct presented below.

Roteiros de Charme Association Ethic Codes and Environmental Conduct

The Hotels and Inns that are part of this Association, recognize the need to preserve the environment for the survival of this and future generations, considering that the fundamental principles of environmentalism are closely linked to the modern concepts of efficiency, commiting themselves to adopt the environmental attitudes contained in this Ethic Codes and Environmental Conduct, which seeks a balance rather than the conflict between environmental preservation and economic development.

Pedra da Laguna implementation are:

  • Ensure the support and participation of key partners and managers in the implementation of environmental practices. We involve everyone who works or provides services to the company, as well as their families in the program.
  • Identify and reduce environmental impacts and risks, including in the planning of new projects and constructions, aiming at the preservation of the local scenery, fauna and flora.
  • Control and reduce the use of environmentally harmful products such CFCs, pesticides and toxic, corrosive, infectious, explosive and flammable materials.
  • Respect religious and historical sites and objects, the local population, their cultural values ??and traditions.
  • Save energy by eliminating superfluous energy use, when possible, alternative sources, energy saving bulbs and automatic control equipment such as timers, sensors and thermostats.
  • Avoid waste and reduce water consumption, checking for leaks, collecting and taking advantage of rainwater when possible, trying to use showers, valves and equipment that enable better control and reduction of their need.
  • Adopt the 3 Rs of environmental awareness: reduce, reuse and recycle. Analyze the demand for recyclable materials and the solid waste flow of the company, identifying the main components of the waste produced, for proper storage and recycling purposes. Avoid the use of disposable products and non-recyclable plastic containers.
  • Eliminate indiscriminated burning of rubbish, pastures and deforestation.
  • Prevent any leakage of untreated sewage or harmful chemicals in the sea, rivers, springs and water reservoirs. Add bacteria that consume organic matter to existing traditional sumps and provide ecological sumps for new projects located in areas not served by the municipal sewage system.
  • Reduce noise and air pollution by reducing noise emission and, when possible, by installing filters in the hoods and replacing refrigerators with non-ozone depleting types.
